I am in my final year studying History and Geography at SOAS, University of London, with a focus on South Asian history and postcolonial geography. I have been tutoring GCSE and A-Level students for a year, helping them navigate exam technique and build confidence in humanities subjects.
I chose SOAS because I wanted a different perspective on history and geography — one that does not centre Europe. This global outlook enriches my teaching: my students learn about the Mughal Empire alongside the Tudors, about urbanisation in Lagos alongside London. They consistently tell me that my lessons open their eyes to how connected the world really is.
My teaching is friendly and supportive. I remember being a stressed GCSE student, and I know that what you need most is someone who makes the subject feel manageable. I break every topic into clear, digestible chunks, provide colour-coded revision notes, and run timed practice essays so you go into the exam room feeling prepared, not panicked.
My rate is very affordable because I am a student myself. But do not let the price fool you — my students have consistently exceeded their predicted grades.
“Decent tutor. Knows the subject but the teaching style did not always click with me. Others might have a different experience.”
“Quality lessons, though I would have liked more practice exercises between sessions. The in-class teaching is very good though.”
“Very competent teacher. The first session felt slightly unstructured but subsequent ones were much better organised. Good progress overall.”
“Reliable and professional. Sessions are always on time. Could be slightly more dynamic in presentation style but the content is excellent.”
