Niamh O'Sullivan

I qualified as a chartered accountant with ICAS after training at a mid-tier Edinburgh firm, then moved into financial planning and analysis at a major insurance company. I started tutoring accounting part-time and quickly found it more fulfilling than my day job.

I now tutor full-time, covering the full range of accounting education. For university students, I help with financial accounting, management accounting, auditing, and taxation. For professional qualification candidates, I support ICAS, ACCA, and CIMA papers. I also teach advanced Excel and financial modelling for professionals.

My accounting tutoring goes beyond memorising standards. I focus on understanding the logic behind double-entry bookkeeping, the purpose of each financial statement, and how accounting connects to business decision-making. Students who understand the why find the what far easier to remember.

My Excel tutoring is hands-on and practical. We build real financial models from scratch: three-statement models, DCF valuations, scenario analysis, and dashboard reporting. These are skills that immediately add value in any finance role.
