Alistair Campbell-Ross

I hold a PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics and am an Honorary Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, where I taught macroeconomics and public policy for eight years. I have also served as an economic adviser to the Scottish Government on fiscal policy matters.

My tutoring draws on both academic rigour and real-world policy experience. When we discuss fiscal multipliers or trade theory, I can supplement textbook models with first-hand accounts of how these ideas play out in government decision-making. This makes economics vivid and relevant in a way that purely academic teaching cannot.

I work with A-Level and Higher students preparing for exams, university undergraduates struggling with intermediate and advanced economics, and postgraduates working on dissertations. I also tutor for CFA and economics components of law conversion courses.

My teaching style is demanding but supportive. I expect students to come prepared and engage actively. In return, I provide the most rigorous, insightful economics tutoring available in Edinburgh. My track record speaks for itself: over 90% of my A-Level students achieve A or A*.
