I completed my PhD in English Literature at King's College London, focusing on modernist fiction and phenomenological criticism. For ten years, I have tutored literature, philosophy, and academic writing to students from GCSE to postgraduate level â and to a good number of adults who simply love books and want to read more deeply.

For ten years, I have tutored literature, philosophy, and academic writing to students from GCSE to postgraduate level â and to a good number of adults who simply love books and want to read more deeply.
My expertise spans English literature from the Renaissance to the present, with particular strengths in modernism, postcolonial literature, and feminist criticism. In philosophy, I teach aesthetics, phenomenology, existentialism, and ethics. My interdisciplinary approach means my students develop the kind of sophisticated thinking that impresses examiners and employers alike.
What my students value most is my feedback on their writing. I treat every essay as a collaborative project: I identify structural weaknesses, suggest sharper arguments, and model the kind of precise academic prose that earns top marks. Many of my university students have told me that one session on essay structure with me was worth more than a term of lectures.
I also run a popular reading group for adult learners. If you have always wanted to read Proust, Joyce, or Woolf with expert guidance, get in touch.
âGood tutor overall. Solid knowledge and clear explanations. Sometimes goes a bit fast but happily repeats when asked. Decent value.â
âVery professional and well-prepared. My grades improved significantly after just a few sessions. The structured approach makes all the difference.â
âPatient and encouraging, even when I struggled with the basics. Never made me feel judged. Genuinely invested in my progress.â
âThe best maths tutor I have ever had. Clear explanations, challenging exercises, and a knack for making difficult concepts click. Five stars easily.â
