Tom Hartley

I hold a Master's in Economics from the University of Bristol and spent five years working as a policy economist at a think tank, presenting research to government committees and media. That experience taught me that the ability to communicate economic ideas clearly is just as important as understanding them.

I now combine economics tutoring with public speaking coaching. For economics students, I cover everything from A-Level to postgraduate level, with a particular focus on developing analytical writing skills and the ability to construct coherent economic arguments.

For public speaking, I work with professionals preparing for presentations, pitches, and media appearances, as well as students facing oral examinations and conference presentations. My method combines classical rhetoric with modern communication science: we work on structure, delivery, storytelling, and handling Q&A.

I have coached over eighty professionals through TED-style talks and high-stakes presentations. My economics students consistently achieve top grades because they can articulate their understanding, not just demonstrate it on paper.
