I am a practising illustrator and art tutor based in Newcastle upon Tyne. I hold an MA in Fine Art from Northumbria University and have been teaching privately for eight years alongside my professional illustration work.
My teaching covers the fundamentals that underpin all visual art: observational drawing, perspective, composition, colour theory, and mark-making. I work in pencil, charcoal, ink, watercolour, and acrylics, and I adapt my teaching to the medium and style each student wants to explore.
I believe that drawing is a skill anyone can learn, not a talent you are born with. My lessons are designed to build visual literacy step by step, starting with simple exercises and progressing to increasingly complex subjects. Every student produces work they are proud of, regardless of their starting level.
I teach art GCSE and A-level students, hobbyists looking to develop their skills, and professionals who want to add illustration to their toolbox. I also help portfolio applicants prepare for art school interviews. My studio in Newcastle provides a creative environment for in-person lessons, though online sessions work well for drawing and digital illustration.

“The best maths tutor I have ever had. Clear explanations, challenging exercises, and a knack for making difficult concepts click. Five stars easily.”
